Blind Spot Information System with Cross Traffic Alert
The EcoSport’s available Blind Spot Information System uses radar technology to scan for vehicles passing through your vehicle’s blind spot. When a vehicle is detected, the system alerts you by illuminating an indicator light in the corresponding sideview mirror.
Included in the Blind Spot Information system, Cross Traffic Alert uses the same radar technology to watch for traffic passing behind your vehicle when backing out of tricky parking spaces. While in reverse, the system detects vehicles approaching from up to 15 yards away, then flashes an indicator light in the corresponding sideview mirror and emits an audible warning.
SOS Post-Crash Alert System
Standard on almost all Ford vehicles, the SOS Post-Crash Alert System alerts passers-by and first responders to a vehicle’s location. In the event that an airbag or safety belt pre-tensioner is activated, the system will automatically turn on the hazard lights, unlock the vehicle’s doors and sound the horn.
Airbags
The EcoSport is designed to provide all-around protection in the event of a collision with an advanced safety system that brings airbag coverage from the front, sides and in the canopy. In the front, the driver and front passenger are covered with a set of dual-stage airbags and knee airbags. Front and second-row passengers are also protected with a set of side airbags. Safety Canopy® System side-curtain airbags are designed to provide head protection for outboard passengers, inflating between the occupant’s head and the side window.
