Step-by-step guide to using charge assist

Let’s break down the steps to help you use charge assist quickly and easily.

  1. Access charge assist in your Ford car’s touchscreen

First, start your vehicle and go to the Home screen on your infotainment system. From there, tap on Charge Assist. This feature will help you locate nearby public charging stations.

Tip: Make sure you’re connected to the internet or your car’s built-in Wi-Fi for the best results when searching for charging stations.

  1. Select the right charger

After you enter Charge Assist, the system will display a list of nearby charging stations. Use the map or list view to find the closest one to you. Once you have found a charger that works with your vehicle, select it.

  1. Activate the charging session

Once you’ve selected the correct charger, tap Activate on your touchscreen. This button initiates the charging session and sets up the payment for the session. You’ll see instructions on the screen telling you when it’s time to plug in your vehicle.

  1. Plug in your vehicle

Wait for the system to prompt you with the Plug In message. Once it appears, simply plug the charging cable into your car’s charging port.

After plugging in, the charging process will begin automatically, and you can monitor the progress on your vehicle’s touchscreen. You’ll be able to see the estimated time remaining, charging rate, and cost.
