How Does the All-New Mustang Mach 1 Compare to the Rest of the Ford Mustang Stable?
This era of Ford vehicles has brought big things, and in this chapter Ford Motor Company is bringing back one of its most respected performance car icons – the Mustang Mach 1. The last time we saw a Mach 1 on the market, the world was a different place. President George Bush was preparing for his second term in office, Mark Zuckerberg had just launched Facebook as a social networking site for Harvard students, and families across the US were tuning in on Thursday nights to catch the first season of the new hit TV show Lost. After a 17-year break, the Mach 1 fastback coupe is back and eager to live up to its past achievements. Join us here as we unwrap the impressive engine horsepower, torque and performance highlights of the new 2021 Ford Mustang Mach 1.
2021 Mustang Mach 1 Engine Specs
The limited-edition Mach 1 will be powered by a version of the Mustang GT’s 5.0-liter V8 engine and will produce 480 horsepower at 7,000 rpm and 420 lb-ft of torque at 4,600 rpm. The new Mach 1 is primed to become the most track-capable 5.0-liter Mustang ever, courtesy of some Ford Performance parts borrowed from the Mustang Shelby GT350 and Shelby GT500 and an available Handling Package for greater at-limit handling. So, where will these specs put it alongside the rest of the Mustang line? Check out the comparison table provided to see for yourself!
