2021 Ford Explorer Changes & Updates
Despite its recent redesign, the Ford Explorer stays on the up and up with a handful of changes this year. The 2021 Ford Explorer is available in five trim levels, including the Explorer Base, XLT, Limited, ST, and Platinum. This model year carries a starting MSRP of $32,225. For reference, that’s about $500 less than the 2020 model. More Standard & Available Features
The 2021 Ford Explorer gains more standard features on various trim levels. The new model year adds standard heated seats on the XLT, a new cargo organizer on the Platinum, and an eight-way power-adjustable front passenger’s seat on the Limited, ST, and Platinum models.
Explorer XLT Sport Appearance Package
The Sport Appearance Package also makes a comeback this year, upfitting the Explorer XLT model with unique Carbonized Gray-painted 20-inch wheels and a matching grille, skid plates, hood lettering, and dual chrome exhaust tips.
Updated Exterior Color Options
Three new metallic exterior paint choices join the lineup this year. The 2021 Ford Explorer features new exterior colors Carbonized Gray Metallic, Stone Gray Metallic, and Infinite Blue Metallic. The triad of new colors joins returning color options Oxford White, Star White Metallic, Iconic Silver, Rapid Red Metallic, Atlas Blue, and Agate Black. Last year’s Silver Spruce, Magnetic, Rich Copper Metallic, and Blue options have been discontinued.
