New Ford Super Duty will offer larger fuel tank

2017 Ford Super Duty Fuel Tank Size

Ford designed the 2017 Super Duty to be ready for any challenge. One way Ford has ensured that this truck can keep working longer is by limiting the number of stops drivers have to make at the fuel pump. The 2017 Ford Super Duty fuel tank size has been increased for the new model year.

2017 Super Duty Fuel Tank Capacity

2017 Ford Super Duty models will now have a 48-gallon fuel tank. A fuel tank of this size is unmatched in the heavy-duty pickup class and is 22 percent larger than the fuel tank included on the 2016 Super Duty.

Several weight-saving innovations Ford has made on the 2017 Ford Super Duty help the fuel tank out. Extensive use of high-strength, military-grade aluminum alloy helps lighten the truck and improve fuel economy. The 2017 Ford Super Duty offers an impressive driving range with a larger fuel tank and improved fuel economy.

The larger fuel tank with the long-box Crew Cab configuration will be available on both gasoline and diesel Super Duty models. Gasoline models will be powered by a 6.2-liter gasoline engine that offers 385 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque. Diesel models come equipped with a new turbocharged 6.7-liter Power Stroke engine that increases the Super Duty’s horsepower rating to 440 and the torque to 925 pound-feet. The diesel engine helps the 2017 Super Duty offer best-in-class towing ratings.
