What kind of engine will be offered on the 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor?
Ford has crafted the 2017 F-150 Raptor to offer the best in off-road performance. All of this starts under the hood, with Raptor’s new engine option. So what kind of engine will be offered on the 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor?
Turbocharged Raptor Engine Performance
Ford has equipped the 2017 F-150 Raptor with an all-new EcoBoost engine. A turbocharged 3.5-liter V-6, this engine produces 450 horsepower and 510 pound-feet of torque. The engine is paired with an all-new 10-speed automatic transmission. Ford’s twin turbochargers do their job well, increasing the Raptor’s horsepower ratings by 39 and the torque by 76 pound-feet over previous models, which came equipped with a standard V-8 engine.

Opting for a turbocharged V-6 instead of a larger V-8 allows the Ford F-150 Raptor to improve in the fuel economy category as well. The EcoBoost engine helps the truck earn an estimated 15 miles per gallon in the city and 18 miles per gallon on the highways. This is all with four-wheel drive.
2017 F-150 Raptor Off-Road Features
The powerful engine and capable four-wheel drive system are aided by a long list of off-road features that help the Raptor tame the wild terrain. The truck comes equipped with a six-mode terrain management system that helps optimize the Raptor’s performance and settings for specific environments. Ford will also be equipping the truck with new shocks, all-terrain tires, an underbody skid plate and several other great off-road features.
