Every time you turn around it seems that Ford is coming out with a new award winning technology that is bound to make your life easier. Whether you are using the Ford MyKey to track the driving learning progress of your teen driver or taking advantage of the new Driving Modes on the Ford F-150 Raptor, Ford has the cutting edge technology to bring your driving experience to the next level. Now, Pro Trailer Backup Assist on the 2016 Ford F-150 has even been the top CES 2016 Best of Innovation Awards Honoree by the Consumer Technology Association in the Vehicle Intelligence category.
Ford Pro Trailer Backup Assist
We previously mentioned Pro Trailer Backup Assist in a post about other Driver Assist technologies on Ford vehicles. This technology allows drivers to steer the trailer’s wheel where they want to go using a knob in the dashboard. When this system is active, Pro Trailer Backup Assist will manage the fine steering required to get the trailer into the exact required position. While this system is a huge benefit to folks who don’t need to use the trailer as often (bringing the boat up to the lake two or three times per year, for example) but it can also save time for folks who are old, experienced hands at trailering. And that is why it was named one of the Best Innovations by the CTA.
“We’re honored to be named Best of Innovation among such a strong field of competitors,” said Raj Nair, Ford Group Vice President Global Product Development and Chief Technical Officer, in a recent Ford press release. “Pro Trailer Backup Assist is another example of Ford leveraging new technology to make every-day driving tasks easier.”
