If you’d like even more power, however, a 2.3-liter inline four-cylinder EcoBoost engine featuring 280 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque is also available, as is a 3.5-liter V6 EcoBoost engine featuring 365 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque. These powerful and capable powertrain options mean your new 2019 Explorer can feature a maximum towing rating of 5,000 pounds with a Class III hitch and 3,000 pounds with a Class II hitch.
