The new Ford Fusion lineup lets you choose from five trim levels in addition to the new Ford Fusion Hybrid and new Ford Fusion Energi models. Setting those two models aside for the moment, the 2018 Fusion lineup consists of the 2018 Ford Fusion S, the 2018 Ford Fusion SE, the 2018 Ford Fusion Titanium, the 2018 Ford Fusion V6 Sport and the 2018 Ford Fusion Platinum.

How do the Powertrains of the New Ford Fusion Lineup Differ?

You’ll notice right away that the 2018 Ford Fusion lineup offers a number of different engines, some of which are more focused on fuel efficiency and some of which are more focused on power output. The standard engine for the new Ford Fusion S and SE trim levels is a 2.5-liter iVCT I-4 engine that provides you with 175 horsepower and 175 pound-feet of torque, and gets you 21 miles per gallon in the city and 32 miles per gallon on the highway. The standard engine for the new Ford Fusion Platinum and Titanium trim levels is a 2.0-liter EcoBoost I-4 engine that provides you with 245 horsepower and 275 pound-feet of torque, and gets you 21 miles per gallon in the city and 31 miles per gallon on the highway. Then there’s the new Ford Fusion V6 Sport trim level. Its standard engine is a 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 engine that provides you with 325 horsepower and 380 pound-feet of torque, and gets you 17 miles per gallon in the city and 26 miles per gallon on the highway.
