2017 Ford Super Duty Release Date
Sometimes Christmas comes early. That’s what it feels like to get the first burst of information about the 2017 Ford F-Series Super Duty truck. While 2017 is a long way off, we’re excited to be able to share some of the new features and details of the brand new Super Duty and give you a first idea of the 2017 Ford Super Duty release date for this new vehicle.
First up, one word: aluminum. After the 2015 Ford F-150 made the switch to this lighter, sturdy metal for its body plates, its larger Super Duty cousin has made the switch as well, losing up to 350 pounds and capitalizing on that reduced mass to optimize towing and hauling capabilities. The high strength aluminum of the body will also reduced dings and red rust corrosion.
An all-new, stiffer, high-strength steel frame will also allow even more towing and a hauling capacity (though the exact numbers for either haven’t been released yet).
Second the technology on the new Super Duty is predicted to be out of this world. The SYNC3 infotainment system will be available, as well as sixteen segment-first features that promise to make the 2017 Super Duty even safer on the road. Up to seven cameras will allow easier trailer hook-up, driving, and even backing up. Other technologies like active steering, Blind Spot Information System with trailer tow, lane departure warnings and adaptive cruise control will all be available on this new Super Duty line.
Lastly, it’s going to be the same reliable truck, coming with the same options of a 6.7-liter Power Stroke V8 diesel, a 6.8-liter V10 gasoline or a 6.2-liter V8 gasoline engine (though these are rumored to have received some improvements for the new model year as well) in the same cabin styles as before, but even better for the new year. Ford is advertising the 2017 Super Duty line as the toughest, the smartest and the most capable and we can’t help but believe it’s going to be true.
