2017 Ford Fusion IIHS crash test scores
Ford is a company committed to providing customers with the safest cars possible. The 2017 Ford Fusion just earned an award that will help it add to this reputation. The IIHS has named the new Fusion a Top Safety Pick Plus, the organization’s highest possible designation. The 2017 Ford Fusion IIHS crash test scores help to prove that this sedan is one of the safest cars on the road.
Fusion IIHS Crash Test Results
The 2017 Ford Fusion earned the highest possible score of “Good” in all five IIHS crash tests. Ford modified the front end of the new Fusion to help the car excel in the difficult small overlap front test that has stumped many vehicles in the past.
In addition to these scores, the addition of an active braking system enabled the Fusion’s front crash prevention rating to improve from “Basic” to “Superior.” This system is included as part of the available forward collision warning system. Systems like these have become a requirement for earning the Top Safety Pick Plus score.
